starwars
I have a windows Vista comp. (i hate Vista) and we’ve never been able to play Lego Starwars without reinstalling it everytime as it is, but now we are getting a message from SecuRom saying that i need to remove the disk from the drive that it’s in to the other drive that SecuRom says is on my system….the problem is that i only have 1 disk drive on my system, but it thinks i have 2. not only that, but when i go into my computer, it is saying that there is another cd drive as well. when i click on it, it gives me an error and says that it is corrupted.

what the heck could be going on with this? please help, my 8 year old is going into withdrawals from not being able to play her starwars game!!!
my kids have downloaded a few of the 1 hour game trials from BigFish games, but nothing else.
i don’t know how to do a screen shot.
ok, here it is, hopefully this works.

i have one other username, it’s mine, i never use this computer, but there aren’t any different icons in the task bar, they are all the same as what’s on my kids’ username.

i have looked at the device manager and all that’s there is the 1 drive and the magicjack, which is my VoIP phone jack. i’ve had this for about 2 months and haven’t had a problem with it. but here is a screenshot of it just in case it helps.

and as i stated before, My Computer says that there is another drive (g), but it doesn’t really exist, i don’t know what it is. so i have a screen shot of that for you also…

i have to go for about an hour or so, i have to say THANK YOU for all your help, whether i get this fixed or not, you’ve at least tried to help me, that’s more than most, so thank you very much!!

Did you download a CD emulator such as Daemon Tools, MagicDisk, or PowerISO (amongst others)? This causes the game to think that you’re emulating the game, and therefore got it illegally.

–Deleted some stuff to save some room–

Well that doesn’t surprise me much.
One last attempt. Click Start>Programs …. and just take a screen capture of that.

Okay nothing out of the usual. One last screen shot. I’ve been treating this virtual drive as an actual drive. When it’s not. My bad. Just need you to go back into Device Manager, take a shot of it with “Storage Controllers” and “IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers” expanded (where the + sign is -)

Hm… under “IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers”, right click “Microsoft iSCSI Initiator” and click Disable. I think that might fix it. Try checking it by viewing My Computer (if it’s already up, hit refresh… still no results… restart the computer).

If that doesn’t work, there’s one last SIMPLE trick. That is to go to (game copy world.com) and search for a NO CD/DVD patch (http://m0007.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_lego_star_wars.shtml)
Simply go to the directory where you installed the game (C:\Program Files\… something something), rename the file “LEGOSTARWARS” to something else (like LEGOSTARWARS1… it’s going to be a backup, just in case you mess up). Then move the file in the zip file over to the install directory.

I have a feeling, that you’re totally screwed. SecuROM is a weird and dangerous DRM that should be avoided at all costs.
